Let me just start off by saying that I am notoriously bad at updating this journal. I am the definition of a lurker. I read everywhere else and don't comment as often as I should. That said, I love this community and this ship. Therefore, a meet-up at the upcoming symposium, Infinitus, must happen. An awesome meet-up was held last year at Azkatraz (though for the life of me I can't remember who by), with fun, games and giveaways. I have been keeping my eyes open for something similar this year, and bookshop has the ball rolling!

So, here is the announcement:

An H/D meet-up will be held on Saturday, July 17th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The location is still being decided. As of right now, we have the meet-up room within the hotel reserved, but we can change it to Margaritaville if there is enough interest—OR if everyone wants to chip in 5-10 dollars, we can rent a private suite where we can order our own pizza and bring in drinks.

Please RSVP by responding to this post. Please let us know your name as it will be written on your Infinitus badge. Let us know your preference between the three options (meet-up room, Margaritaville, or private suite). Anyone who RSVPs by June 27 will get a goody bag full of H/D love (bumper stickers, temporary tattoos, buttons, necklaces, drabbles, H/D postcards, t-shirts, etc.) and a raffle ticket for a chance to win cool stuff. There will be a Name That Fic game, a drawing, and a good time for all!

This is also a call for volunteers. bookshop and I will be doing as much as we can, but anyone who would like to make/donate items for the goody bags and the drawing would be much appreciated. Please let us know if you are able and willing to help and, if so, what you would like to contribute.

If you don't happen to see this post until after June 27, no worries. You may not get a full bag, but we still want to see you there. Details of the time and location will be posted here before the symposium and will also be included in the meet-ups section of Infinitus' program booklet.

Well, it's been quite a while since I posted, and I've never really posted regularly, but that's about to change.  Starting now. :-)  I've begun posting my Draco/Harry story, Before I Sleep, over at The Hex Files.

Summary: Hermione's having a hard day all around, and Draco has more than a few problems with her attitude.

Chapter Four -- Touching and Testing
Summary: The relationship progresses more, and Severus experiences that little monster called jealousy. There is a test, which proves testing in more ways than one, and Severus feels more apprehension about the upcoming birthday dinner.
Chapter Five -- Dinner and Deliberation
Summary: Severus meets the parents, and Hermione's mother brings up a touchy subject afterwards. How will they handle it?
Chapter Six -- Sold and Satisfied
Summary: The auction has finally arrived! Severus has something important to tell Hermione. How will she react, and where will it lead them? And what will the auction mean for their relationship?

Chapter Three -- Equal Footing
Summary: Hermione is human too.

A really brilliant fic has finally been completed after a year of silence.  I am a staunch,  staunch SS/HG shipper with an occasional love for DM/HG, so for me to rec a fic that is not SS/HG or DM/HG is saying something.  But this fic is truly amazing, and I think it's worth reading no matter what your shipping preference is.

Summary:  With the war looking bleak, the Golden Trio, Ginny, Draco, and Lavender go back to Tom Riddle's 7th Year to destroy Lord Voldemort once and for all. However, Hermione DIDN'T count on a shared common room, a curse, and a little thing called love.
